Default Just Needed To Edit Field Code!

Hi Jamal,

I have CHANGED your two documents.

Excel: I have put the dates into different formats (CTRL+1). The format of the field DOES NOT MATTER, because all excel dates are held as numbers. Changed the header to Date, because it does not matter whether there is a day there or not.

Word: Then I put in the field code into the Word docment. Right-click date, toggle field codes and the whole string will be seen. Do not forget to toggle it back!

The way that the date is formatted comes down to how many 'd', 'M' or 'y' that you have within the quotation marks. For instance, add another couple of 'M' (4 x M = MMMM) and you will find it will give you the whole month name, whereas, 3 x M's will give you an abbreviated months name.

You now have various date formats in the Excel file, which will all look the same when mail merged into the word document, irrespective of their original formatting.

Hope this now answers all of your questions.
