thank you for the answer nutrastat.

i tried your hint but unfortunately it didn't work!

- the date is read from an excel file but not directly from Word
- the format is applicable for the current date but not for the dates listed in the excel file!

please, see the attached the images that shows my problem.

what i need is to have the dates listed in excel to be written in Word exactly as they are.

how can i do that? could you please elaborate more?
