Default MS Word 2003, printer queue in 'printer properties' shows 1 job; no job in printer

Hi, I've searched for a solution via various search engines --- no cigar, nor are there any similar threads that I could find.

Problem:
1 particular document will not print despite showing 'Document sent to printer' and successful transmission. Doesn't matter whether we use monochrome or colour.

On the MS Word "Printer properties" dialog, the printer displays '1 document waiting'. The printer queue (from Printer and Devices') shows no jobs waiting. If watching that screen it you can see the job come into the printer queue then be 'printed'.

We can print to that and also to other printers using alternative documents or test pages. Other people can print to that printer.

The document is an registration form and is printed regularly, prior to today [26/07/2011 @1152].

Actions taken:
Reset computer. Reset printer queue. Change printers. Save document to new name, close, then open with new document and print --- all reported successful but no printed page comes out of the printer. Restart printer. Turn off 'Track changes' (search engine result 'solution')

Further notes:
Through it all, the printer properties dialog always says 'document waiting' despite being able to print other documents. I'm about to go try to print that document to a different printer (I worded the problem as though I had attempted that but the literal interpretation is true.) We need to print this document to that printer because the users need colour.

This has got me baffled because it seems the document is dictating whether it can be printed or not.
