Default PP 2010 font question

Every year, I work on a HUGE number of graphs for my office. By huge, I mean about 5,000 individual slides. One of the 'problems' I have been having is with the (X) axis.

I have to put some country names in the X axis and it seems no matter what font I use, it comes out blurry, fuzzy, unreadable. I have tried changing the font size, going from normal to bold or vice/versa, using a different font altogether and nothing. It just doesn't seem to improve.

However, at one point it will all work and everything will be perfect. But when I go to apply to a new slide, I start all over with the problems and what might actually fix it on the new slide, is completely different from the previous one. Also, IF I do manage to get one 'perfect'; if I have to go back and alter data in the graph? The font is no longer 'perfect'.

I think part of the problem is that the font just isn't small enough; I need something goes as small as '6'. But I haven't been able to find one that proves to work.

I've attached a jpg of one of the slides. Can anyone give me an idea how to maybe get this figured out so I am not spending a ton of time trying to tweek it till it is right? This has happened for the past 5 years that I have been doing this.....I need to get this figured out.
