Default Typing into text boxes

Hi, thanks for your help in advance.

I have Microsoft Word 2003. I downloaded a Word document that I have to fill in and return. It has text boxes that it seems obvious that I should be able to type directly into. However, I cannot.

The control toolbar is in the upper left hand corner of the document and two icons are highlighted: properties and view code. Everything else is grayed out.

The only way that I have discovered to be able to type into the text boxes is to click on the properties icon, and then one by one go through the text boxes using the drop-down list at the top and then type the text into the tiny box to the right of the "text" cell. Since the text boxes are not in order from top to bottom of this form and do not have meaningful names, this is a pretty laborious task. It seems like a really crazy way to do this and I can't imagine that this is the way it's supposed to be done.

Someone told me that I might need to enable the macro. I tried to figure out how to do that and everything that I tried had nothing to do with those text boxes. I've also done research online and in help and I have not been able to find anything that seems to pertain to my situation.

I know somebody out there is going to say, "oh, that's a no-brainer. Anybody with any brains would know how to fix this :--))" and I hope you'll write back to me and tell me how to do it.

Thanks,
Misha
