Default Erratic line spacing in Word
I have a problem with line spacing in Word.

When I press return to start a new line, the cursor jumps six lines or more down the page.

I have read the instructions about going to Format, Paragraph and choosing line spacing. I have chosen single line spacing, and tried putting different numbers in the "before and After Spacing" boxes but to no avail.

I am using Windows XP and Word 2000.
