Your Word 2010 installtion will still be using the same 'Normal' template that you had for Word 2007. You'll need to delete/rename that before the new Style definitions will come into effect. The 'Normal' template's location is given under File|Word Options > Advanced > File Locations > User templates. Close Word before deleting/renaming.
