Word (W2008 MacOSX) do not register my index entries within my endnotes. It looks like Word do not search the endnote section for entries. Is this a "feature", or could somebody give me a hint on what to do?

It is a large doucment (book manuscript) with hundreds of endnotes, many containing names of people who should be mentioned in the index (even if they are only present in the endnote and not in the chapters themselves).
