That is odd. I just ran both my first macro and John's on your document and both appear to do the same thing. Yes, John's works. The only reason I posted the alternative was I like to avoid using "selection" when possible.
As best I can tell .ExecuteMso(TableOfContentsRemove) does mimic the Alt S T R keyboard accelerators.
