What Does the ":" Mean after a Filename

While working an a fairly large Excel 2000 file, call it myfile.xls, when I clicked File>Window I saw "myfile.xls:1" and "myfile.xls:2". Closing and opening Excel does not change that. There are still 2 files appearing when I click File>Window.

How did I get 2 files and are they different? They don't appear to be.
