Assuming that you don't need the TOC in the new doc to update, copy and paste it to the new doc. You may wish to then select it and break the links, by pressing Ctrl+Shift+the F9 key. This will turn it into regular, unlinked text.

You can delete the TOC page in the old document entirely, if you no longer need it. However, if you simply wish to remove the page number, you'll need to insert a Next Page section break at the bottom of the previous page. Then, open the footer on the TOC page and, opening the Header and Footer tab that appears above the others, click on "Link to Previous" to unlink any changes you make to it from the rest of the preceding document. Then you may delete the page number.
