Visio ANSI E page/print setup issues
Hello, Visio Professional 2016 user here. I'm having issues with page/print setup for an ANSI E 44"x34" size drawing. I'm recreating an autocad drawing in visio. We print the drawing to PDF because many of the users don't have autocad or visio on their machines, plus we don't want them modifying the drawing. Occasionally a hardcopy of the drawing gets printed to a plotter that we have in our office.
Here are my settings:
Under Page Setup>Page Size tab I have Pre-defined size ANSI Engineering E: 44"x34" selected with Landscape orientation.
Under Page Setup>Print Setup tab I have Printer paper set to E: 34"x44", Landscape, fit to 1 sheet across x 1 sheet down. If I click Setup... the paper size is default to A3 with Portrait orientation. The largest size option in the dropdown is Tabloid. I left A3 as the size and changed orientation to Landscape but this changed Printer paper selection on the Page Setup>Print Setup tab to A3: 297mm x 420mm. When I go back to Printer paper E: 34"x44" and then back into Setup... it's back to portrait orientation. I leave all of this alone.
Selecting File>Print, the print preview shows 1 page, landscape orientation, fully filling the page.
Printer = Microsoft Print to PDF

The blank dropdown has a dozen choices and Tabloid 11"x17" is the largest
I select Printer Properties and the Orientation is set to Portrait. Click advanced... and the Paper Size is set to letter. 11 choices in the dropdown, Tabloid is the largest. Cancel, then cancel, then print. The resulting PDF is a single page in portrait orientation (blank on the top half) that Adobe shows to be 11.69 x 16.54 in.
Second attempt. I select Printer Properties and the Orientation is set to Portrait which I change to Landscape. Click advanced... and the Paper Size is now set to A3. 11 choices in the dropdown, Tabloid is the largest. Cancel advanced, then OK printer properties, then print. The resulting PDF is exactly the same as the first attempt.
Third attempt. I select Printer Properties and the Orientation is set to Portrait which I change to Landscape. Click advanced... and change the Paper Size from A3 to Tabloid. OK advanced, then OK printer properties, then print. The resulting PDF is the exact same as the previous attempts.
Final attempt. Set blank dropdown in print settings to Tabloid. I select Printer Properties and the Orientation is set to Portrait which I change to Landscape. Click advanced... and change the Paper Size from A3 to Tabloid. OK advanced, then OK printer properties, then print. The resulting PDF is landscape orientation with a small amount of blank space on the right side that Adobe shows to be 17.00 x 11.00 in.
Any guidance on the correct way to set the print settings to achieve a 44"x34" ANSI E PDF which can then be printed on our plotter?
