I modified your post to make it more readable.

Is your question that you do not want the Table of Contents heading formatted in the TOC Heading Style to show up in your Table of Contents?

If so, modify the TOC Heading Styles so that it is Body Text level, not Level 1.


Your TOC field is choosing to include level 1 and your TOC Heading is set as Level 1 because it is based on Heading 1.

You could use another Style for the heading.

You could use a Custom Table of Contents that does not have heading that comes with it, type your own and format as you choose so long as it does not have an outline level.
