Default Outlook 2010 using different PST files for incoming and outgoing emails

I just had a problem with Outlook 2010 starting then just closing, with no error message. Eventually I removed the default pst file and Outlook stated again. I copied the pst file then added it back into Outlook.

All seemed well in that I could now receive email.

But I have now discovered I can’t send email, as it seems Outlook has created another version of the pst file (e.g. xxxx(2).pst). It seems outgoing emails are created in this new version of the pst and incoming email is going into the original pst file.

When I try and send email, I get an error message saying outlook can’t find the pst file. I think I need emails to be created in the original pst file and not the new version but I don’t know how to do this.

Any ideas please?

Thanks

Frank
