You can also insert it using the Insert > Symbol dialog. It is one of the "special characters" and you can assign a keyboard shortcut or AutoCorrect entry to it.


When you reveal non-printing formatting marks, Word uses it to show a paragraph mark (end of a paragraph) in the document. Those disappear when you hide the marks and do not print.
