If you are pasting in the content after setting the headers and footers you need to be careful that the introduced content does NOT contain any section breaks. You may discover there is an extra section break around page 6 that you weren't expecting.

Also using Insert Page Number can give you a floating shape with the page number in it. This can be a little unreliable and I would recommend you insert a page field to allow you more control with the field behaving like any other text field.
