Default Project not updating task when project start date changed

Haven't used Project Desktop (via Office 365) for abt 18 months. Previously if I changed the Project Start Date, with all tasks set with precedent tasks it would update all the task dates respecting the new start date and the precedents' end dates and fully update the path timeline.

Now, in a new Project file, when I changed the Project Start Date to 28 days later with all tasks having precedents, it left all the tasks set at the dates unchanged, I am having to go to each task and manually set the task's start date 1 day after the end date of its predecessor. I tried removing the precedent task and re-applying, but Project will now not respect the date of the precedent task

All tasks are set to Auto Schedule, the task Constraint Type is set to the default 'as soon as possible' with Constraint Date as 'n/a'. I have tried different combos of Constraint Type and Constraint Date, it makes no difference.

I tried in Options/Schedule unticking and again then ticking the "Task will always honour...." That made no diff.

BUT, if I go to a task where I have not yet set a task date and apply a precedent, the precedent task end date is respected.

So, any task that already has a date set for it will not respect precedent task end dates since I changed the Project Start Date

Is there a change in the current version that stops what I used to see happen ???? Or have I forgotten to do something ????
