I could not find the feature that lets you add in-text citations (by filling the necessary details of the source as per Reference style), which is available on the Mac version, but doesn’t seem to be visible anywhere on the iPad app, including the ‘Insert’ tab. Similar problem for adding a bibliography.

Can someone confirm whether or not the Reference features are present on the iPad or not, and if it is there (and I somehow missed it), where can I find it?

These features are very important for me as I am in university and they need us to use specific Referencing styles that often require in-text citations, so I need to know whether it would be better for me to find an alternative device which supports the feature.
Hi there,

I think I just managed to figure this out myself. If you download ‘Mendeley Cite’ word add-in on the browser it will allow you to reference from your Mendeley library. Mendeley doesn’t have an iPad app so you just add to the library when logged in on the browser instead or I might try Paperpile for this.

There was an error message came up on mine that meant that I had to toggle to ‘open in word online’ in the Microsoft add in download page and this opened a Mendeley document in word on the browser. For some reason when I clicked back into the iPad word app this meant that the mendeley cite while you write bar came up straight away. They have hidden the add in button under the insert tab on the far right, if you click this you can open mendeley cite,

Hope this helps other technologically challenged people just trying to cite on an iPad,

Kate
