I don't know what macros are, many of just use Microsoft Office products for business use and are not savy enough for to figure out the missing steps that you are referring to. Perhaps a step by step guide can be created with screenshots to inform others how to disable this feature. I use Office 2016, and don't like the newer versions, so I doubt giving feedback for older software will lead to any kind of fix. Which means we the users have to take matters into our own hands.
