Default Display nonprinting guidelines in Word

I quite often use Word to create multi-page documents with a lot of scanned sections. I often want the scanned sections to appear in the same place on every page. Ideally I would like to be able to create and position guide lines to show me where on the page to put the scanned images, but I don't want these guide lines to print. This is possible in many graphics programs just by dragging the horizontal and vertical rulers, but Word doesn't seem to have this capability. I can do it by creating a header that displays on every page with the guide lines, and after dong all the positioning, deleting the lines, but this is tedious and time consuming. How do I best do this in Word? Or if it's not possible, please can it go on the wish list for a future version?

Thank you - Rowan
