It would be great if someone had a fix for this.

HOWEVER, Microsoft have just spent 90 minutes connected to my PC and their conclusion is that it is a bug in Outlook 365. They've reported it for rapid action. We'll see.

I'll update this thread if there is a resolution from Microsoft.
