Can I change "automatic" from black to blue somehow?
You can change your underlying style(s) to blue, though.
Importance of Styles in Word

If you are using Word 2003, I recommend downloading the original Legal Users Guide to Microsoft Office from my website. As far as I know it is the only Microsoft-published manual on using some of the features in the menu versions of Word. It is in the form of Word documents.
Original Legal Users Guide to Microsoft Word 2002 This is a zip folder.

My Usersguide website started from that manual. It is supplemented by chapters on Templates, Boilerplate, Justification/Alignment, Outlining, Fields, and Forms that are not in the original. The original chapters have been updated as well but you may be able to find earlier versions from before 2007 on the web archive. I have retained a separate Sections chapter for the menu versions on my website; the other chapters contain information for both versions and can be confusing, I’m afraid.
