Print or Print Preview should update all fields. So if you simply preview your document, that should update those cross references.

Or, if you don't want to stop editing to do that, CONTROL + A to select all text in the d, and the F9 key to update.

A quick suggestion: if multiple people will be working from that template, make sure they select "Show Bookmarks" in the Advanced Options settings. It's what allows me to easily see where the bookmark is because it shows the little brackets around it. I've had issues with coworkers not seeing the brackets and backspacing or deleting them, thus breaking the bookmark. You'll see the gray field area of the cross references, only if they are selected.
