Using meeting request to ask for Time Off/Leave?
Good morning! I’m working on a project for work to create a custom appointment form that serves as a “request for leave” form. (Outlook 2003)
Here’s what I have as an idea:
Employee fills out the form with dates requested, probably using the appointment/meeting template on Outlook
After it’s sent, there could be some way to request approval from supervisor – maybe they can edit the status to “approved” or something?
Afterward it would be added to the company calendar
A reminder message would be sent out to all employees. This part’s not that important, because our process is that the person taking the vacation sends out an email to everyone to remind them anyway. But it would be nice to have an automated process.
So, what do you think? Is this possible with Outlook 2003?
