If possible try to use it on another Windows device that has the same version of MS Office that you created it on. i.e. Office 2007 according to your profile or as close to it as possible.

There is another thing you can try but it involves installing LibreOffice and opening the document using its 'Writer' module. LibreOffice is free so it will only cost you a bit of time and effort to try it out and you can uninstall LibreOffice afterwards. LibreOffice is very compatible with Word but not 100% so it might work or it may not.
