If Microsoft doesn't want to support 2010 (fine with me) that is their business choice. But if they are going to require activation that is permissible according to the licenses that people buy, they need to have a viable system. If they can't support a viable activation system, stop requiring activation of old non-supported products.

As I said befor, only reason I got 2010 was for Excel, which I use for one fairly large project early each year. It worked fine for my purposes.

I don't need or want newer editions. However, turned out to get around installation issues I bought Office 2013 from Software Keep for $55 and I have been able to get it activated and put this stuff behind me.

Would add that Windows 10 was so bad that Microsoft tried to trick people into "upgrading" into it.
