Default Inserting Endnotes/references acting as hyperlinks

I really like how scientific journals are organised in terms of in-text citations and references (see example below). Where something like APA style used. A simple number after text which looks (blue) and acts as a hyper link.

I assume the journals are written in MS Word and exported to PDFs.


I found that within Word the function insert Endnote does something similar. It adds a superscript number which acts in a similar way. Which is great.



But is there a way to make it blue (as a hyperlink) so it stands out?
