First, it is Normal.dotm, not .dotx, as shown in your dialog. (This is important.)

I really can't explain what you are seeing but I see something similar when I start Word with a new normal template and without add-ins.


If you deleted the normal template that Word uses, you have all the built-in styles.
Your normal template may or may not have been in that folder.
Where is the Normal Template / How to Find the Normal Template

If you are trying to get all of the styles from the default template into your document, see the second option under Update Styles Options and the macros here: Macros to Copy Styles from the Normal Template. You do not need to be using the Organizer.
