You would need a series of search and replaces to achieve this
First find puts unique content inside the brackets eg
[xyz] becomes [||xyz|]

Then format the inner set by finding the ||(*)|

Then remove the unique content you added.

Alternatively, you can reformat the [] symbols after the initial replace
