Sometimes, the following happens in my Outlook desktop client:

- With my Inbox set to Unread, a new reply arrives to an existing email thread
- I click on the reply thread to see the email in the preview window
- I see it, read it, and all is well
- I click "reply" and begin to type my email
- after a few letters, almost instantly after hitting reply, the email reply window closes
- because the inbox is set to unread, the email thread is now also gone (as it is marked read when I hit reply)
- to finish my reply, I have to switch to All view, click the dropdown arrow to fully expand the thread, click on the new reply email, and click reply to start again

This is very annoying. I could set emails not to be marked as read when I hit reply, but I then will have to manually hotkey them as read. What are my other options to fix this?
