Unfortunately, the ‘remembering’ of the zoom issue has been a problem for some over the years with different Word versions, especially the earlier ones.
Perhaps a Macro would suit your needs to open documents at a preferred zoom level for every document you open.
Someone, I’m sure, with more experience of such Macros will come to assist & advise.
