Default Style Changing Between Pages

Hi,
I've got a long document (850+ pages) that I've applied a couple of styles to both of which I created.
They are identical with the only difference being one of them has an indent on the first line set at 0.8 cm. Both are justified, same font and size, same line spacing etc.
The problem I'm having is that the first paragraph is extending to the left further than the proceeding paragraphs, I've attached a screen shot which shows the issue quite well.

As I stated above, the only difference between them is the first line indent (or so I believe).

The second issue I have is that the paragraphs on the next page do go as wide as the non-indented paragraph. I've also included a screen shot of this problem.

So in this case I'm getting justification on say page one shorter than the justification on page two. Page three is the same as page one etc.

I'm only using the two styles and it has me stumped as to what the issue could be.
Is there anybody out there with a possible solution please?

Cheers.
Steve
