When I click the Send/Receive button Outlook doesn't download new emails.

To get that, I have to close out of Outlook, then go to Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) then end the Outlook program there.

Then I have to restart Outlook to download new emails.

I would like to download new emails w/o having to shut down Outlook.

What is wrong here and how can I fix this?
