As explained in your original post, what you're asking simply isn't possible with formfields. Working formfields, cross-references, hyperlinks, etc. cannot be embedded in other fields. That said, a macro could be used to replicate the relevant content without anything being embedded in another field. See, for example:

Something along the lines of what you're asking could be also done with content controls - but that would require a major reworking of your document.

Do note that formfields and content controls should not be used in the same document. They weren't designed to be used that way and trying to do so is a known source of problems for the end-user.
