Default Inserting date automatically to every new document

We work with a letter template that has an automaticallyupdated date field. First, we used the DATE field in word, but when we openedold letters, the date that appeared was of the current day therefore we changedthe field to CREATEDATE. Now, when creating a letter from the template it worksgreat. The problem arises when creating a letter based on a document stored inour document management system by the “copy” or “save as” option. When using“copy” to duplicate an existing document (and save it) - the date is notupdated at all. When using “save as” to save an existing document as a newdocument - the date is not updated automatically, but you have to right-clickon the field and select the “update field” option. Could there be a solution to these two situations? That whenever you create a new document -whether it is from the template or based on an existing document, the date inthe new document will be automatically updated to today's date and will not be automatically updated later on?
