Power Point Graph Animation and Zoom function

I’m trying to build a slide deck that builds up a graph by category and then slide zoom to another slide that refers to the category on the graph – I can do all this.

The problem I have is when I return back to the slide with the graph on (via slide Zoom) the graph needs to be built from the beginning with me clicking to show the next category, there are 8 categories on the graph.

I want to:
1) build the categories
2) zoom to the slide specific to the category
3) return to the slide with the graph on and have the previous categories showing, rather than having to build them from the beginning.

Any ideas how I do this?
