I created a powerpoint presentation which has two avi video files and two mp4 video files.


The two avi files are embedded in the pptx file as media1.avi and media2.avi


The two mp4 files are linked in the pptx file to the corresponding external .mp4 video files.


I expected the two video formats to be treated the same.
For portability, seems like using embedded avi files is better, but I can create a PresentationCD folder which seems two work port ably using the latest version of powerpoint.



Can a powerpoint expert please explain what is going on here?
