Default Date spacing on clustered line graph

I looked through the FAQ and can't find any reference to this problem:

I am having a problem with the date label on my clustered column graphs. I have attached the excel worksheet as well as a JPEG screen snapshot. Ideally I want a clustered column graph that has the date along the horizontal axis with the days spaced one day apart. So using the data on my spreadsheet, if I select "a4:a103,d4:d103" and create a clustered column graph, I get the desired outcome, the graph spaces the dates on the horizontal axis 1 day apart. But if I then select "a4:a104,d4:d104", and ask for a clustered column graph, I get the graph, but Excel has spaced the days 2 days apart on the horizontal axis instead of one day! It still plots every day, but doesn’t label the date in the horizontal axis the way I want it to appear, and it doesn’t seem to matter if I widen or narrow the horizontal graph area. Something happens between selecting rows 4-103 and 4-104 that makes excel create a different graph. As you can see on the screen snapshot, I have formatted the plot of the horizontal axis to be spaced major units 1 day. Is there any way to correct this? Many thanks
