Default Lower left module icons missing?

Win10, Office 365

If you view the lower left corner of the first pane there are the familiar 3 dots (more) but the icons for tasks, contacts and calendar are not visible.

Hover over the area of missing icons and the text bubble indicates the presence or seeming presence of the icons.

I've closed/opened OL and restarted twice and no difference.

Do I need to do an 'online repair' and basically DL and reinstall Office to correct this problem?

(edit): I just realized that there are subtle instances throughout OL of missing indicators--although clicking on where they should be visible does result in action. For example: The 'x' in the upper right corner to exit is missing but works, the down arrow adjacent to task start finish dates missing...

I just did click on the lower left where the text bubble indicated tasks, for example, to be and tasks did open.
