Question How to format negative values in red, right aligned but have £ sign to the left?

Hi,------please ignore message below - managed to work it out. Custom format code I required was £* #,##0.00_;[Red]£* (#,##0.00);-; Chose to put negative values in parenthesis

------------------------------

I’m trying to format a column of cells containing currency values – some negative which I want to show in red.

If I select the entire column and choose the ‘number’ format which shows negative values in red, it doesn’t include a currency symbol.

What I want to do if possible, is have the negative values automatically display in red when entered e.g. -45.00, but I also want to include a ‘£’ currency symbol aligned flush to the left of the column (with no preceding negative symbol) and with the figures aligned to the right.

Can anyone help me with this? I’m not sure how to enter this precise format in the custom ‘type’ box.

Thanks in advance
