I think you need to be an 'Office Insider'. See

The first screenshot on that page shows an Office Insider button (which I don't have (although I have managed to become an Insider)) which you might be able to use in a straightforward way. However, if the button/tile is not there then I can't remember exactly how I did it (3 months ago), but it involved a bit of internet searching and I needed to download an MS application and change a registry settting. I managed to do it
without re-installing Office and chose the
Current Channel (Preview) option. When I next tried manually to update Excel/Office it gave me the added FILTER, SORT and SEQUENCE functions and more.
These sites may give you an inkling of the sorts of thing involved - I went about it with some trepidation and was really quite surprised at how convoluted the whole process was, however, I was lucky and it worked first time:
