Default How can I retain image quality on a slide?

I am using PowerPoint in Office 365 and I am having a problem with image quality.

I want to insert a photo into a slide, add some text, and save the slide as a jpeg file to use with other photos in a slide show. The saved Powerpoint slide is at a much reduced resolution compared with the original.

I tried changing some settings in PowerPoint, as follows:

1. File -> Options -> Advanced -> Image Size and Quality, and checked “Do not compress images in file”

2. Left the “Do not compress images in file” box unchecked and changed Default resolution to High Fidelity.

Neither of these made any difference – I still got the same low resolution images as with the PowerPoint default settings.

Any suggestions, please?

Thank you.
