Checking the field codes, I see that, after the attempted print, the page numbers in the affected section have lost their code entirely. The previous sections (pages 107 and prior, show {PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT}.

I attempted to remove all the page numbers and insert fresh ones with Alt + Shift + P, then saved the doc and attempted to print again. This time, instead of changing all the page numbers in the affected section to 2 (and removing the field code), it changes them all to page 152 (and removes the field code). It's hard to see the significance of that page number in the document, as 152 was not near a new section.
