Hi jmacky,

The problem has been caused by someone making changes to Word's 'Normal.dot' template. Neither repairing nor reinstalling Word will fix this.

All you need to do is to:
1. go to Tools|Options|File Locations,
2. note where your 'User Templates' are stored
3. close Word
4. use Windows Explorer to navigate to the folder where the 'User Templates' are stored
5. delete the file named 'Normal.dot'
6. re-start Word.
