https://www.msofficeforums.com/word-...x-files-2.html. I'm attempting to write a macro which manipulates data in Excel on output provided to me via numerous Word documents each quarter (effectively, this piece functions as a data dump of Word docs into Excel).
As a first step, I'd like to have Excel open the first Word doc in the folder without having any Word doc open already - I've made modifications per your comments to adjust this code for Excel, but the first proposed code presupposes you have a Word doc open (since it was intended as a Word macro!).
I'll be handing this program over to colleagues and want to minimize potential user error. Let me know your thoughts or if you need further information.
