Recapping the situation:
  1. The problem does NOT occur if you start in safe mode.
  2. Renaming the normal template does not make any difference.
  3. You have no COM Add-Ins loaded.
  4. You have no template Add-Ins loaded.
  5. The problem occurs in all documents (even if your large document is not open).
  6. If you go to print preview and then back you can save.
Are each of these statements correct?
