Default Share appointments between calendars?

My company has a General Calendar which everyone can post appointments to. I want to know, if I put an appointment on my personal Outlook calendar, is there a way to also put it on the General Calendar at the same time? That is, not to put the entire contents of my calendar onto the General one, but on an individual basis?
