You may be able to open the document using Open Office, which seems to ignore certain errors that prevent Word from opening such documents. Otherwise, I suggest you restore your most recent backup and work from that. All that can easily be recovered from the present file are the embedded images (which you can do by changing the document's extension from docx to zip and opening it as a zip archive).
