Thanks for your reply, I have managed to get the titles into the table of contents without them appearing with numbers.

However, I cant seem to control the indent of the both the numbers and the text for the numbered headings, do you know how this is controlled?

I have tried changing this under table of contents>custom table of contents>modify>modify and then changing the indent, however this moves the headings in the body of the text, I only want to move their position in the table of contents...
