Apparently, nothing can print to the printer. I just went to settings-printers and Scanner. For some reason I could not see my printer. I asked Windows to search for it. It fond it. I set it to the default. I tried to print form LibreOffice but that did the same. Notepad simply wouldn't do anything. In the printer dialog, I clicked on the button to print a test page. It wanted to print it to file. Apparently, this is not only MS Word. I still don't know how to fix it but clearly, there's a larger problem. Looking at printer ports, there's one row that says
File Print to File HP printer name
Nothing i have tried there will let me delete that port or edit it. I have no idea how that happened. I wouldn't know how to do that if I wanted to. When I try to delete this, Windows says that it is in use. That's not right. I turned it on and off just to be sure. Any suggestions please?
